I'm pleased to see that the current State News editorial board feels the opinion page shouldn't be used to foment hatred and intolerance ("Moral choice," SN 3/1).
I wish previous editorial boards had realized that publishing opinion columns and letters expressing negative beliefs about homosexual people is exactly the same kind of incitement to hatred and intolerance.
Freedom of speech does not allow the crying of "Fire!" in a crowded theater, nor should it allow the crying of "Hate!" in a decent society.
