Out of phase tomboy - selections

Yo!

Oopt began as an autobiographical comic, but as soon as Resu and Risa appeared, they hijacked the enterprise. The story told here is not completely consistent with that told in the second, Multiple Muse Disorder, phase, but then, truth and reality are slippery concepts.

My life, the story and the art went up and down during this period. Looking back, I'm amazed I ever had the energy to draw and color all this stuff!

The pages are linked together, so just click on one, then you can go forwards and backwards.

Episode two

Continuing in Manga Studio, but beginning with the 2009/03/27 page I switched to doing the comic entirely with Copic markers. I kind of had a nervous breakdown in early 2009; the art and my life really sucked for a while.

Episode three

Switching back to Manga Studio. The 2009/09/09 page is an all-Copic marker page. Clearly I had no idea what I was doing with my life, or with the comic.

Episode four

As March rolled around again and I had been out of work retired for a year, I decided to write a story about Resu and Risa and me, and floundered around trying to figure out how to draw the comic to go with that. I left many of these pages in pencil, both from lack of energy and because at this time I often liked my pencils better than the resulting inked and colored pages.
